To Recover Your Castor From Your Beaver

Note: Castor is Like
a gland like in Most Animals witch is sent . you can
harvest it to sell or use your self to being in other
Beaver to your Trap . You use Castor in what is called a
Castor mound it is also used in other sent attractors
for other types of trapping on land .
Here Is How to Recover Your
Castor
From Your Beaver :
You start off with a fresh beaver just
recovered from your set you caught and hang
it up or if you like to skin on a Bench is
fine . Once you are ready to Recover the Castor
you cut just through the skin Be very careful when doing
this Task because it doesn't take much to cut the Castor
or the Oil glands and I will show you those as well once
you open up the bottom end of the beaver . You can start
at the Vent or at the lip center of the Animal once you
get to the VENT Area is where the Castor is in figure 1
the hump between the rear legs in the Middle

You cut around the VENT as in Fig 2 once
around the vent you can skin back the hide to open the
Area where the Castor is .

Once cut around the vent skin back the hide
you will Begin to see the Castor or Oil glands as in
Figure 3 you have to skin these out so take your time
and go slow .

Once you recognize the Castor and Oil sacks
you skin them out as in figure 4

Cut out the Castor and Oil sacks and Hang
to dry here they are on my fleshing Board to show you
just what they look like Figure 5

bring you Cash for your effort in the trapping world .

Pound this can very from season to season .
Castor is
graded this is done by size and amount of Castor sack
you harvest from a number of beaver . hope this helps
